Prospekt shopping mall launches the Light Among Us project on the power of military and civilian recovery

On October 4, at 14:00, Prospekt shopping mall will host the start of the project "Light Among Us: Restoration. Integration. Life." Its main mission is to help the military and civilians affected by the war to recover, return to daily life and find their place in society.

The central event will be the opening of the photo exhibition "Superhumans. Light Among Us", created in partnership with the Superhumans All-Ukrainian Center for Military Trauma and photographer Yuliia Braverman. The heroes of the photos were veterans and those who survived the ordeal of the war, but managed to keep the light inside and share it with others. At the heart of each Yuliia's photo are the sincere emotions of superhumans and the disclosure of their personality, which corresponds to the important messages of the project: to be human, to treat others with respect and kindness. The shooting took place in two cities of Ukraine — Kyiv and Lviv — and united 28 heroes.

"Veterans and war-affected people with injuries visible or not are our reality. According to official data, more than 50,000 people already need prosthetics — and this is only part of the statistics. The Superhumans Center provides the most complete range of services, not limited to prosthetics: it performs operations on maxillofacial surgery, hearing restoration and psychological support. The project "Light Among Us" highlights the new reality, tells the stories of people in their own words. One of the goals of such a project is to normalize people with different types of disabilities and, thus, create the safest and most barrier-free space. That is why I immediately agreed to become part of this project, " said Denys Bardachenko, a graduate of the Superhumans Center.

Within the framework of the opening, the following was prepared for the guests:
•    Panel discussion with representatives of the Superhumans Center on the culture of communication and the integration of superpowers into society.
•    Superhumans Zone — familiarization with modern prostheses, the opportunity to try to control them, learn more about barrier-free and contribute to the rehabilitation of the military.
•    Workshop of Good "Bracelet for Superheroes" — children together with adults will create charm bracelets with warm wishes for the military.
•    Interactive game "Myths and Facts about Barrier-Free" with psychologist Mariia Mendalianets, which will help to destroy stereotypes and open a new view of accessibility.

"Prospekt shopping mall is a comfortable barrier-free space and an important community center of the Left Bank of the capital. We believe that social initiatives, such as the project "Light Among Us: Restoration. Integration. Life", help not only to talk about the heroes of our time, but also to unite society around the values of support, strength and faith in life. In a world where darkness sometimes seems invincible, there is an invisible force that unites us — this is the light that everyone carries in themselves, ”said Inna Morozova, Marketing Director at Arricano.

In addition, on October 4, Prospekt shopping mall will present a manual "Let's be open: how to communicate and interact with people with disabilities in society", created with the support of Superhumans Center. Its purpose is to make communication more comfortable for both parties and to overcome prejudices in relation to people with disabilities.

Partners: Superhumans Center, Foxtrot, JYSK, NGO "Vilne zhyttia - svitle maibutnie".
