Prospect SEC of the leading commercial property developer and operator Arricano Real Estate plc, has become the winner in the “Best public facility” category, in the best housing and building properties put into operation in 2014 contest. The certificate and accompanying prize of the Ukraine State Inspectorate of Architecture and Construction were handed to Arricano by Gennadiy Zubko, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister, Minister on Regional Development and Housing and Utilities sector, and Alexey Kudriavtsev, Head of the State Inspectorate of Architecture and Construction.

Prospect Director Inna Sotnikova says that the Complex had been developed by experienced professionals and is one of the largest of its type in the left bank district of Kiev. “The project plan was designed with great attention to detail and took into account all our needs, from Building Management System and free cooling to minutest details, such as absence of thresholds in transport corridors, among others” – explains Sotnikova. “This made is easy for the building company to follow it through”.

When developing the Prospect project, Arricano made use of some of the most efficient techniques of European project development tradition such as placing the anchor hypermarket on the first floor of the building and ensuring symmetrical footfall distribution in the Complex. Another widely used design principle, allocation of car park on the roof of the building was also successfully realised at Prospect. This ensures effective and ergonomical use of space and facilitates optimisation of customer traffic in the Complex.

According to Arricano CEO Mikhail Merkulov, Prospect’ victory in the best public facility contest can be put down to two fundamental reasons – high standards of construction and comfort for visitors. Mr. Merkulov points out that Prospect’s position in the top three of most visited SECs can be accounted for, among others, by the modern approaches used in construction and operation of shopping complexes. The competition was organised and conducted by the State Inspectorate of Architecture and Construction with the participation of independent panel of experts and professional judge panel, which included famous professionals in the field of architecture and design, such as Roman Abramovskiy, Deputy Minister on Regional Development and Housing and Utilities sector (chair of judges); Vladimir Gusakov, President of the National Association of Architects and others. “This competition is held annually and is aimed at improving property development standards, promoting positive experience in implementation of new technologies, construction materials and successful solutions in design, development and construction of commercial properties”, - explains a member of the expert panel. He also informed that the total of 16 properties were nominated for the “Best public facility” award, but only the most innovative, interesting and deserving projects conforming to highest international standards were declared winners.
