Prospekt shopping mall has been tested for barrier-free accessibility
Prospekt shopping mall is convenient and accessible for people with limited mobility – the shopping mall received such an assessment after a professional analysis from the NGO "Dostupno.UA". Representatives of the NGO checked the shopping mall for compliance with the standards of inclusiveness, in particular physical barrier-free accessibility, in accordance with state construction standards and provided their conclusions and recommendations.
After visiting the shopping mall, Nataliia Parkhytko, Deputy Head of the NGO "Dostupno.UA", stated: "It should be remembered that accessibility is needed not only for people with disabilities, but also for parents with strollers, temporarily injured people, etc. Prospekt is a comfortable and spacious shopping complex on the left bank of Kyiv. It is very important for us that Arricano came out with the initiative to check the shopping mall for barrier-freeness and accessibility. We have some comments, but we are glad that the management company hears us and is ready to improve shopping malls. Also, do not forget about the infrastructure around – the responsibility lies with the city authorities, and we are actively involved in the development of barrier-free spaces that will allow people with limited mobility to move around the city safely and freely."
The problem of barrier-free and accessible public spaces for Ukraine is not new and every day of the war becomes even more urgent and important. Arricano supports the development of barrier-free spaces and the creation of a culture of inclusiveness and support for people with limited mobility, implements targeted initiatives to ensure the convenience and comfort of all guests of shopping malls.
Prospekt shopping mall is available for the movement of people with limited mobility, shopping, visiting a food court and recreation. He not only received an expert assessment of compliance with the standards of inclusiveness, but also together with the NGO "Dostupno.UA", the Arricano team conducted a test experiment in the shopping mall. We invited a person on a wheelchair, a person with a prosthetic leg and a mother with a stroller, and together we went all the way along the possible routes of movement of visitors to hear comments and ideas on how to improve their stay in the shopping mall.
“Arricano does not wait for changes, we successfully implement them ourselves. Support and development of comfortable barrier-free shopping malls is one of the tasks of our company. Prospekt shopping mall is visited daily by families with children, the elderly, people with disabilities and other guests, so we aim to create and improve a space that takes into account the needs of all categories of our visitors and is convenient for everyone.
Representatives of the NGO "Dostupno.UA" provided us with their recommendations on creating conditions for more comfortable movement of people with limited mobility in the territory of the shopping mall. In addition, we are open to the wishes and comments of visitors: everyone can leave their suggestions by writing to Facebook or Instagram of Prospekt shopping mall, or by scanning the QR code "Let's communicate" in the shopping mall," said Inna Morozova, Marketing Director of Arricano.
Users will be able to watch soon a video about how we spent the day together with guests and representatives of the NGO "Dostupno.UA" in Prospekt shopping mall on the pages of the shopping mall on Facebook or Instagram.
