About 6000 participants from 1,200 companies, including developers, suppliers, consulting companies, Turkish and international retailers, Turkish and foreign shopping malls were registered at the 16-th Istanbul Retail Days exhibition, that has been holding since 2000.

In addition to a large delegation from Ukraine Istanbul Retail Days was attended by delegates from the Republic of Belarus, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Morocco, Iran, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates. Ukraine is represented by such companies as Arricano, UTG, Kyiv Mall, JLL, Alef Estate, Olvia, Grad Invest, Avec, Riviera Shopping Centre, and Trinity Belarus.

The program of Retail Days included the international Istanbul Retail Conference, the speakers of which are the internationally recognized experts in the field of economy, retail and business development, learning the global trends, negotiation meetings in B2B format, and establishing the business contacts.

The key topics of Istanbul Retail Conference became the global trends of retail, adaptation of retailers and developers to changing market conditions in various countries, and changes in consumer preferences.

Participants of Istanbul Retail Days 2016 noted positive developments in the retail market of Ukraine, which correspond to global trends, including the growth of gastronomic segment in the retail sector, formation of the unique experience and emotional component in the mall or in a particular shop. "The increase in the share of public catering in the mall, selection of individual segments of gastronomy such as healthy foods, drinks / smoothies / desserts, Oriental cuisine, local cuisine, and development of a service model in the mall (lounge-zones, parenting rooms, and consumer services of storage lockers) are the international trends implemented in our projects. Formats that are not yet represented sufficiently in the Ukrainian market, include the clothing department stores and large multi-brand stores", - compares Stanislav Shulha, Arricano company’s delegate.

Stanislav drew attention to the experience of the Turkish operators. He pointed out that modern Istanbul's shopping malls have their interesting tools to create the service, comfort, and convenience. Many stores use air fragrances and lots of green areas; interactive digital displays on shop windows, interactive navigation bars, comfortable resting areas. Among the features one could name the almost total absence of island operators in the gallery.

A powerful and active trend of Istanbul Retail Days was the organization of partnership meetings. The B2B briefings involved about 120 companies. "This is an efficient format to maximize the quality of cooperation establishment between the developers and retailers, and to attract new players and new brands to Ukraine", - said Anna Chubotina, Sales Area Director of Arricano company. The main purpose of Arricano delegation was to establish contacts with the new Turkish retailers and to attract them to the company's projects. The meetings resulted in established contacts with the new Turkish retailers that are not yet represented in Ukraine, who have serious plans for expansion into Ukraine in the mid-term. "We have held negotiations, which resulted in a number of Turkish retailers announced their plans about entering the Ukrainian market", - shared the results A. Chubotina.

Istanbul Retail Days 2016 became a platform for the search of new partners and the development of participating companies.
