Arricano planted more than 70 green plants in the park of Kyiv

Arricano is a socially responsible company that creates spaces and senses, cares about the present for the sake of a quality future, takes into account the needs and aspirations of consumers and tenants, adhering to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Therefore, before the global Earth Day, Arricano organized a number of environmental initiatives in its Kyiv shopping malls and involved partners, including the public sector, in the events.

On April 29, Arricano, together with visitors of the Prospekt shopping mall and partners, with the support of the Desnianska district State Administration in Kyiv, in particular, its head - Dmytro Ratnikov, Municipal association "Kyivzelenbud", and Municipal enterprise "Blahoustrii Desnianskoho raionu", planted 18 trees and 55 bushes in the DShK park, which is located next to the shopping mall. From now on, the location will grow red-leaved and pointed maples, as well as forsythia and spirea from Arricano, Prospekt shopping mall, DECATHLON, Yves Rocher, Auchan Ukraine, Greek House, SPRINGFIELD, and Brocard. Maple is a amulet tree, a symbol of prosperity, order, reliable peace and comfort, and now perennial maples have become a decoration of the DShK park in the Desnianskyi district of the capital.

“The increase in the number of green spaces in the territory of the DShK park is one of the steps towards landscaping of Kyiv and instilling environmental habits in our citizens. We know how children now lack outdoor activities, interaction with peers, educational projects, where they could get practical skills. Therefore, in our malls, we conduct interesting activities with a rich program every week and not only children, but also adults can join them. So, for example, for Earth Day, everyone learned to grow microgreen, did yoga and dancing at Prospekt shopping mall, and in RayON they created eco-feeders for birds themselves,” said Inna Morozova, Marketing Director of Arricano.

In the Prospekt shopping mall, visitors took part in GREENCROSSING — the exchange of houseplants: they gave pots to those who were fond of home floriculture, and also exchanged for new ficus, palm trees, cacti, kalanchoe, diphenbachia and others.

In addition, the shopping mall collected three full boxes of used batteries. All these spent power sources could get into the soil and pollute huge areas of the earth with dangerous metal compounds, instead, Prospekt mall handed them over for processing to the GreenWEEE plant in Romania, and the eco-initiative partners presented wonderful prizes to the visitors who joined the battery collection and won the draw.

Children together with adults passed an exciting quest for orientation on the ground, which was prepared by students and teachers of the Faculty of Geography of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, rested and actively spent time outdoors: played basketball, practiced archery, danced and repeated movements of a yoga and stretching coach. The most active participants of eco-initiatives received gifts.

In RayON shopping mall on April 29, visitors went through a bicycle and hiking eco-challenge and received green boxes with flower seeds and green plants for their activity in order to plant them. The children were delighted with the Green Energy Show and, holding their breath, watched with fascination every movement of the researcher, who, thanks to experiments, showed how interesting science can be and how it is already healing our planet. Everyone has learned how to make eco-feeders and now has their own microgreen and knows how to plant it.
