Arricano Real Estate Plc took part in the VII International Architectural Forum “Architecture in the Epoch of Global Changes” which was held on June 15 in Kyiv. The organizer of the event - Commercial Property, the leading edition in the field of commercial real estate in Ukraine, for the seventh time prepared an up-to-date business program, including presentations of foreign and Ukrainian experts.
Mykola Yakymenko, acting head of the development department, acting Operating Director of Arricano, gave his expert commentary on the report of a speaker from Spain, an architect, a development director of Onyx Solar, Alvaro Valverde, who presented the topic: “Solar architecture. PV-glass today is the building material of the future.”
Mykola noted that the use of photovoltaic modules in commercial real estate is very important now, when everyone is looking for the ways of reducing energy costs on their facilities: "PV-glass can be used as an alternative to a usual double-glazed unit with energy-saving coating and as an alternative to traditional structural elements in the frames of roofs and facades. If we consider the use of PV-glass in a shopping mall, then using a glass unit with photovoltaic modules in the construction of a glass roof, we can reduce energy costs not only on the account of generation of electricity by photocells, but also on the account of creation of a slight darkening which allows decreasing of temperature inside a shopping mall in hot and sunny days”.

The program of the Forum included practical information, new ideas, tools and solutions that can be applied, expanding the concept of the current trends of architecture and real estate market and vectors of their development.  Case-marathon “New solutions: how to prevent old mistakes” was presented by the specialists of leading Ukrainian companies who shared their experience of solving complex problems in current conditions and meeting modern challenges. During two discussion panels - “Principles of a cyclic economy in architecture and energy independence of real estate” and “Pitfalls in changing the state construction standards (DBN)” - the approaches and solutions needed for the development of the industry were worked out. The speeches of foreign speakers who shared innovative experience, trends and forecasts related to industry development in European countries, enriched the participants of the Forum and caused active discussions.
The reports of the speakers on the methods of managing the construction project and portfolio of projects, smart solutions in design and general planning, new trends in facade designs, modernization of obsolete buildings etc. caused interest of the guests of the VII International Architectural Forum.
